Birmingham printing firm cements its reputation as the leading encapsulation service in the Midlands with major investment in new equipment which increases capacity.

LG Davis, based in Warstock Road, Kings Heath, has invested in a new Comet Modular Encapsulation machine. One of the only printers in the Midlands offering the specialist printing technique, which covers a printed sheet with a rigid strong plastic to provide extra protection and durability, the upgraded equipment will now increase capacity and speed of production for the specialist service at the growing printing firm.

The high speed industrial encapsulator provides the company with the ability to print up to 25m of high-quality encapsulation products a minute, with the pneumatic operation of all Teflon coated rollers allowing the use of specialist films as well.

The modular design means the equipment easily fits into the company’s current production line and helps to increase capacity as the business looks set to meet its ambitious target of reaching £5 million turnover by 2025.

Managing Director Liz Smith said the company was proud to enhance the offer for companies here in the Midlands and allow LG Davis to continue to lead the way in offering durable printing solutions here in the Midlands.

“As a firm we are continuing to see steady growth and to keep up with demand it is important that we not only continue to invest in our staff but our equipment as well.

“Comet is the leading supplier of professional printing and encapsulation equipment. As one of the only suppliers in the Midlands with this capability our added investment is not only enhancing our inhouse services here in Birmingham it is helping to create a first-class service for the wider community.

“We are excited to continue to grow our encapsulation service and invest in new equipment which not only improves the service for customers but increases our capacity as well.”

Encapsulation is often used to create brochure covers, menus or signs that can easily be sanitized and protected against wear and tear.

LG Davis first opened its doors in 1962 as a small stationery shop in Balsall Heath. A family run firm, Liz is the daughter of founder Ron O’Donnell and she has seen the business dramatically grow into a multi-million pound print and office supplies company over the last 6 decades.

A one stop shop for all office branding and stationery needs, LG Davis are well known for their long standing connections with NHS Trusts and public sector organisations due to their bespoke stock and distribution service allowing multi-site companies to benefit from the savings of large print runs while storing excess stock to be shipped as and when required.

Working with several international and UK wide brands LG Davis is now looking to grow their commercial work here in the Midlands and continue to support local firms from their 25,000 sq ft site in Kings Heath.

The company prides themselves on offering high levels of customer service. Their longstanding connections in the industry mean they can source any product or resolve even the most complex print, office and packaging issues.
